AVAILABLE IN MASSACHUSETTS MISSION STATEMENT Neighborhood Health Plan, in partnership with the state, community health centers and other community-responsive providers, develops and operates cooperative managed care systems which are member focused, quality driven, community based, culturally responsive, and financially viable in contemporary and future health care environments. NHP is in the business of bridging and aligning the health care finance and delivery systems for people of low income, on public health insurance programs or with chronic illness or disability HMO (Health Maintenance Organizations) Members of Neighborhood Health Plan HMOs receive coverage for routine and preventive care services with little or no paperwork such as bills or claim forms. Care is typically covered in full after a small co-payment. The HMO plans are available to the self-employed and small businessowner. NHP utilizes an extensive panel of doctors primarily available in group practices and large multi specialty groups. EMERGENCY CARE Members are always covered for care in a serious medical emergency. Members should receive treatment at the nearest emergency facility, call 911 or another local emergency number. WORLDWIDE COVERAGE If traveling and in need of immediate care, members should go to the nearest medical facility.
